APC,Gov. Fayose clash over student leader’s arrest

The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State
has berated Governor Ayodele Fayose for the
arrest of students' leader who participated in
the campaign rally of the party's presidential
candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, in
the state on Saturday.

According to the opposition party, the
National Vice-President, the National
Association of Nigerian Students, Tosin
Ogunkuade, has been arrested on the order of
the governor for addressing the crowd during
Buhari's campaign in the state.

MOVIC: I am sure that the people of Ekiti who
voted for Fayose will be biting their fingers
now.

SERIOUS: It is curious that the students, who
were the complainants, are now turned into the
accused, as the police are being forced to slam
criminal charges against them.

This could be a
fallout of 'stomach infrastructure' since they
were among the beneficiaries.

They will be willing to obey the governor's
instructions to the letter. I pray that human
rights lawyers like Festus Keyamo and Femi
Falana will take interest in the case.

OBIJIALAKU EMEKA: The more people try to
disparage Buhari, the more Nigerians love him.

At this moment in our history as a people, we
have two major problems to deal with –
corruption and insecurity. And we know that
Buhari can handle them better than Jonathan.

That is why we are supporting him.

LORA: It is painful how harsh people have
become in blaming Goodluck Jonathan for
everything that happens because he is
contesting against Buhari. The latter claims to
be a saint now, but people have forgotten how
he cancelled the Lagos Mono Rail project
immediately he took over power from Shehu
Shagari. He locked up all the politicians from
the South, while their northern counterparts
were placed in house arrest; some were even
freed to travel overseas.

Buhari does not
represent the change that Nigeria needs.

Jonathan may not the best, but Buhari is not
going to do better.

ADELEKE lAWAL: People amuse me when they
compare a military rule with a civilian
administration. Some people believe that
Buhari stopped the metro rail project. If that
was true, what has happened to it since 1985?

What stopped successive administrations from
re-introducing it? Buhari is described as
wicked because he jailed corrupt politicians.

Can we compare what he did to that of Jerrry
Rawlings? Rawlings killed all the past heads of
state in Ghana.

Shouldn't we rather commend Buhari for
stopping the recklessness that associated with
the Shagari administration and restored
sanity to the polity?
All the decisions of the administration were
taken by the Supreme Military Council, which
included the then Attorney General of the
Federation and Minister of Justice Mr. Chike
Ofodile who drafted the decrees.
