Many times when we think about success we think about what we need to do… we think of better productivity. Often times we can maximize our potential and our productivity simply by not doing a few things. Let's look at some examples. If you're using Facebook to connect and build relationships with people who are headed in the same direction as you, great. If you're using Facebook for multiple hours a day because you're b...

An accounting firm, PriceWaterHouse, was last year hired to carry out the exercise following an allegation by the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi, that $20bn was not remitted to the Federation Account by the NNPC. Sanusi, who is now the Emir of Kano, had written a letter to Jonathan that $49bn was not remitted to the Federation Account by the NNPC. But following the controversy which the letter generated, a committee was set up to reconcile the account. Sanusi later recanted and said the unremitted fund was $12bn. According to Goal, Henry, who announced his retirement in December, helped guide Arsenal to two Premier League titles and three FA Cup trophies, while he also remains the club's record scorer with 228 goals. "I never considered leaving Arsenal." Henry told beIN Sports. "But I was 29 years old and in form, I thought all the guys left and I did not know if Arsene (Wenger) would be staying. "It was not easy and when I left I cried. I'm not ashamed to say it. I'm a competitor and I had to leave." Henry joined Barcelona in a €21.3 million deal in June 2007 but insists he had to force his way into Guardiola's plans. "When I arrived at Barcelona, Guardiola told me that I was the fourth-choice striker and I would not be starter," said the Frenchman....

Nigerite promotes dry construction system

Image
The Nigerian construction industry is under pressure to evolve cost-effective systems for delivering projects due to the sliding prices of crude oil and high cost of funds, the Managing Director, Nigerite Limited, Mr. Frank LeBris, has said. At the unveiling of Nigerite's Kalsi alternative building solution in Lagos, LeBris noted that mass housing development at both the federal and state levels could readily be available through innovative system of construction either with a hybrid solution, the traditional brick and mortar, or a complete dry construction system. He said, "With the demand for housing in Nigeria growing at geometric rate while the housing development is at arithmetic rate, there is an obvious need to evolve more practical methods to achieve mass housing development. Nigeria deserves stiffer sanctions for corruption – American activist

Image
A senior associate of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and advocate of a corruption-free society, Sarah Chayes, has called on the United States to check the rising incidence of corruption in Nigeria by imposing stiffer sanctions on the country. Chayes, who is an award-winning journalist and author, made the call in an article published in the Los Angeles Times on Friday. As at Sunday, the article, which attracted reactions from Nigerians and foreigners alike, had gone viral on the Internet. In the piece, titled Nigeria's in-your-face corruption may be fuelling Boko Haram terrorism, Chayes said the Nigerian economy had suffered a major setback since the United States refused to patronise its crude oil. Yet, the US, she argued, should move beyond rhetoric and ensure that Nigeria pays more for its corrupt tendencies. For ethical and security reasons, Chayes urged the U.S. government to introduce more sanctions against Nigeria so as to compel the country's leadership ...

(FOOTBALL) I won’t change —Costa

Image
Chelsea striker Diego Costa insists he will not alter his aggressive style of play after serving his three-match suspension. The 26-year-old was retrospectively given the ban this week for violent conduct after an independent regulatory commission on Friday ruled he deliberately stamped on the ankle of the Liverpool midfielder Emre Can during Tuesday's Capital One Cup semi-final second leg. Although Costa claims there was no malicious intent behind the stamp, he will take the decision in his stride but not let it affect the way he approaches the game. "As far as what happened on Tuesday, the main thing is when I get home I can go home and I can go to sleep knowing that I've not done anything wrong, because I never meant to do that and it was not on purpose," the Spain international told the Daily Telegraph. "You can clearly see that on the video. But it is a suspension. I have to accept that, I have to take it. Obviously I feel sad b...

(FOOTBALL) Arsenal not title contenders –Wenger

Image
Despite a 5-0 thrashing of Aston Villa on Sunday, Arsene Wenger does not believe his Arsenal side are Premier League title contenders, Sky Sports reports. Arsene Wenger believes it is too early to consider Arsenal Premier League title challengers after his side thrashed Aston Villa 5-0 on Sunday. Arsenal are 11 points adrift of leaders Chelsea, despite easing past Paul Lambert's men to record three straight Premier League wins for the first time this season. Wenger had predicted that the top two – Chelsea and Manchester City – would draw on Saturday, yet although both teams did drop points, he does not envisage them slipping up to allow Arsenal into the race. "It's too early to say that," said Wenger when asked whether his team were now in the title race. "We are 11 points behind. That means they [Chelsea and City] need to lose four games and we need to win four. "I believe that we should try to be consistent and see what ...

(AFCON) Equatorial Guinea win miraculous – Becker

Esteban Becker was understandably joyous as Equatorial Guinea advanced to the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations in dramatic fashion, Soccerway reports. Equatorial Guinea coach Esteban Becker said Saturday's controversial 2-1 extra-time win over Tunisia was "almost a miracle". The host nation were staring at elimination until Hamza Mathlouthi was controversially deemed to have fouled Ivan Bolado in the penalty area deep into second-half stoppage time. Javier Balboa stepped up and converted the spot-kick, cancelling out Ahmed Akaichi's 70th-minute opener, before Balboa found the back of the net with a stunning 25-yard free- kick 12 minutes into the additional 30. "Tunisia played very well. They have players who play at a high level, while we only have one who plays in a top division in Europe, and that's Javier Balboa," Becker said afterwards. "To beat Tunisia is an achievement, almost a miracle. "Thanks to the players, the people of [Equa...

Williams has endured her share of injury scares during a long career, including a life- threatening pulmonary embolism in 2011 that sidelined her for 12 months. But she said modern medicine had helped keep her going. "I can play as long as I like now," Williams said after moving to clear second on the list of all- time Open-era Slam winners behind Steffi Graf on 22. "With technology and stuff, players are able to play longer. It just depends on how long I want to play "I really don't know (how long that will be). Meet the World’s Poorest President Who Lives on a Farm & Drives a 1987 Beetle

Image
He lives on a farm, and his official car is a 1987 Volkswagen Beetle. He donates 90% of his monthly salary to charity. President of Uruguay, Jose Mujica, is not your average president. It is commonplace to see some presidents of countries living lavish lifestyles, and in some extreme cases, looting their countries' finances for personal gain. But not Mujica. He is commonly known as the world's "poorest" president because of his austere lifestyle Mujica rejected the luxurious presidential residence the government provided for him and instead opted to live on his wife's farm located on a dirt road outside the country's capital. They have no domestic workers – they do all the farm work by themselves. The only staff they have are two police officers. In 2010, his annual personal wealth declaration – mandatory for officials in Uruguay – was $1,800, the value of his Beetle. In an interview with BBC, he said: "I've lived like this most of my life, I can live...
