The Actors Guild of Nigeria has released the programme of activities to honour the late Nollywood thespian, Muna Obiekwe, who died on Jan.18 from a kidney related ailment. In a statement released and signed by AGN's President, Ibinabo Fiberesima, it was disclosed that the remains of the light skinned actor would be laid to rest on Tuesday, Feb.3. The programme would commence with a candlelight procession which will be held in Lagos on Feb. 1. The meeting point for the procession is the Alhaji-Masha Roundabout in Suru lere at 4pm and would terminate at the popular O'jez Restaurant inside the premises of National Stadium Lagos. He will be buried at Umudioka, Anambra State, and several celebrities from the showbiz circle are expected to be at the event to pay their last respects to their departed colleague.

The five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by Uche at the National Stadium at Surulere, Lagos. A middle aged man has been accused of raping a five-year-old girl at the National Stadium at Surulere, Lagos. The unnamed little girl had been running errands for her mother-who is a trader at the stadium- when she was lured to a hidden location and raped by the man called Uche. According to reports, Uche was a former bartender at "Old Skool" bar, a drinking joint at the stadium. The rape was later discovered when the mother of the girl noticed that she was in pain when she returned from the errand. After questioning, the five-year-old confessed that Uche raped her. The mother according to the report has reported the case at the Surulere Police Station. Another report however revealed that the mother of the rape victim had collected the sum of N30, 000 from Uche for the treatment of her daughter. Uche we learnt is still evading the police.

A student of the Ekiti state University suffered severe cut on his head during a clash between the APC and the PDP in the state on Saturday January 24th. While the APC allege that the clash broke out after the National Vice-President, External, National Association of Nigerian Students, Tosin Ogunkuade was arrested by the state police for speaking during its presidential campaign, the state Governor in his defense said the people arrested were thugs of the APC who wanted to cause trouble in the state. The young man with the cut is currently receiving medical attention.

The woman pictured is being accused of brutally assaulting her 12 year old house maid. The incident happened yesterday Jan. 25th at Eleyele police barrack in Ibadan. The woman allegedly beat the girl so much, she knocked off her tooth and nearly blinded her. She then poured hot water on the girl. Her cries attracted neighbors who saved her from the attack. The woman then allegedly told neighbors she beat the girl because she didn't clean the house. The girl has been taken to a hospital and the woman detained. I'm going to follow up on this story. This woman deserves to be jailed like seriously.

There was rioting between students of Ekiti State State University (EKSU) and the management of one of its affiliate colleges, Michael Otedola College of Primary Education in Noforija, Epe Lagos State where some students were allegedly brutalized by security men drafted by the school to disperse them.
